Carol Conroy grew up on Marine bases all over the Deep South. The daughter of Donald Conroy (“The Great Santini”) and younger sister of Pat Conroy,  she received a Master of Arts degree from New York University. Her poems have appeared in the Agni Review and the Paris Review. The Jewish Furrier is her first published book. It was followed by The Beauty Wars (1991) published by W. W. Norton. Ms. Conroy lives in New York City.
